William Samuel Howitt (1765-1822) - 1799 Engraving The Hunter
Description
A characterful etching showing a fine equine portrait. The horse is looking coyly over its shoulder. The engraving has been hand coloured. The artist name and date of publication has been inscribed in plate along with the title of the image.
The print has been presented in a glazed, wood frame with brushed gilt detail and a green wash-line mount.
On wove.Condition
The condition is typical for a picture of this age including some discolouration. There is the odd tiny foxed spot and some undulation to the paper. The mount has an area of water damage along the lower edge and the frame is in fine condition.
