A crisp early 20th Century etching with excellent contrast and depth showing the glassy surface of Loch Katrine in the Scottish Highlands. The artist has signed to the lower right in graphite. On wove laid to board.

Condition

Very minor discoloration.

Artist Biography

William Renison was born in Glasgow but later lived in Auchterarder, Perthshire. He was a prolific etcher of the Scottish countryside, exhibiting 39 works at the Glasgow Institute, 4 at the Fine Arts Society, 2 at the Royal Academy, 4 at the Royal Scottish Academy and others at Liverpool, Manchester and Ireland.
