A striking early 20th Century drypoint etching by the artist William Renison, depicting a breathtaking view of impressive cliffs and calm waters with a bird flying above. Signed in the lower right hand corner, as shown. Signed. On wove.

The condition is typical for a picture of this age including some discolouration and evidence of a previous mount. Overall in fair condition.

Artist Biography

Glasgow born painter, etcher and engraver who exhibited at the Fine Art Society, Royal Academy, Royal Glasgow Institute of the Fine Arts, Royal Scottish Academy, Royal Hibernian Academy, MAFA, Walker Art Gallery and at the Paris Salon. An etching by Renison entitled 'The Bargate, Southampton' is illustrated in Colour Magazine, December, 1917.
