William Renison (1866-1940) - Framed Oil Cottages by the Coast
Description
An atmospheric landscape painting depicting a solitary figure walking along a coastal path near a grove of windswept trees. The composition employs soft, impressionistic brushwork and a delicate palette of blues, greens, and warm earth tones to evoke a sense of the Mediterranean. The group of trees skilfully draws the viewer's eye from the foreground figure through to the tranquil sea beyond. Signed 'Renison' to the lower right. The painting is well presented in a 20th-century gilt and veneer effect frame. On board.Condition
The condition is typical for a picture of this age, including some light dirtying and minor surface marks. Light wear and chips to the frame. The overall condition of the artwork is very good.
