A vibrant watercolour study by 19th century artist William Norris, depicting a view of Chepstow Castle on the cliffs of the River Wye. This historical welsh landmark is known for being the oldest surviving post-Roman stone fortification in Britain. Signed and dated to the lower right-hand corner. The watercolour is well presented in a new beige mount and slim dark wood frame. Glazed. On wove.

The condition is typical for a picture of this age including some discolouration to the watercolour. The frame and mount are in a fine condition.
