William Norman Gaunt (1918-2001) - Signed Original Mid 20th Century Watercolour. Figures on a beach, titled to the reverse "Thunder Clouds, Troon" on a typed label. Signed to the lower left, laid to a piece of backing board measuring 27 x 40 cm. Signed. On wove. Condition is generally very good, with a few tiny foxing spots to the sky and some very minor discolouration to the edges in areas. Generally appearance is very good.

Collection Information

William Norman Gaunt was born in Leeds In 1918 and studied at Lancaster School of Art under Walter Bayes R.W.S.. He gained his National Diploma in 1949 and was made a Fellow of the International Institute of Arts and Letters in 1959. His work is well renowned for his characterful depictions of figures, coastal scenes and equestrian portraits.
