An impressive watercolour and gouache painting by the artist William Mackenzie Thomson, depicting a Royal Navy ship. The Powerful class were a pair of first-class protected cruisers built for the Royal Navy (RN) in the 1890s, designed to hunt down enemy commerce raiders. Signed to the lower left-hand corner. Well-presented in a double card washline mount. Signed. On watercolour paper.

In very good condition, with very minor discolouration and a small light surface mark to the mount.
