Description

This accomplished nautical study depicts the HMS Northampton which was a Nelson-class armoured cruiser built for the Royal Navy in 1876. She was built by Napier and Sons in their yard in Scotland and was the flagship of the North America West Indies Station. In 1906 she was put outer of service and sold for breaking up. Signed to the lower right. Presented in a glazed wooden frame with a white card mount. On paper.

Condition

There is a significant tear running across the top left of the picture. Even discolouration across the surface of the painting. There are some minor foxing marks.
