Description

A humorous caricature, possibly depicting Isaac DIsraeli. A contemporary inscription to the reverse reads "Isaac DIsraeli. Father of Dizzy. Sketched from life by William Kew."

Isaac DIsraeli (1766-1848) was the father of British Prime Minster Benjamin DIsraeli. There is a similar 1839 graphite study of Isaac at the National Portrait Gallery drawn by Alfred, Count D'Orsay.

Well presented in a black lacquered frame with gilt detail. Unsigned.

Condition

There is some minor discolouration to the paper and minor scuffs to the frame.
