Description

A very fine graphite study of the well-known sculpture 'Gladiator's Left Foot' by Agasias of Ephesus. The artist has signed to the upper right corner. Well presented in a vintage thin wooden frame and off-white card mount. On paper.

Condition

In fine condition overall. Some very light discolouration to the paper. Some surface marks and scratches to the vintage frame.

Collection Information

These accomplished life studies by the artist William Kerry date to the early 20th century, c.1920. Whilst little is known about Kerry, the works include a range of important head studies from Old Master sculptures, as well as fine academic studio works in graphite.

Although only some works are signed, all are by the artist's hand and were acquired as a single portfolio.
