A truly wonderful study of a gardener tending to his Italian garden. Chickens and hens peck in the courtyard whilst he waters the shrubbery. A terracotta roof peeks out from behind a swathe of olive trees. So masterfully painted, the naïve quality of the composition and subdued colour palette make this a wonderful original painting. Well presented in a vintage wood frame. Inscribed to the reverse. Monogrammed to the lower left. On board.
Condition
The frame has some marks and scuffs in keeping with the vintage aesthetic. There is some craquelure to the surface.
