A charming rural scene by Dutch artist Willem George Frederik Jansen (1871–1949). Captured in Jansen's characteristically expressive style, the scene depicts a mother and daughter walking along an autumnal tree-lined avenue carrying baskets. The work is signed to the lower left, and is well presented in a swept gilt frame. On canvas.
Condition
Signs of wear consistent with age, including discolouration and craquelure. Small losses to the paint, and inspection under UV light reveals areas of overpainting. Light wear to the frame. Overall, the artwork is in good condition for its age.
