A solitary figure sits beside a stream in this atmospheric work by Dutch artist Willem Adrianus Fabri (1853-1925). Fabri employs a dark, earthy palette and broad, impressionistic brushstrokes to capture the landscape. Signed to the lower left and well presented in an ornate gilt frame. On canvas laid to board.

Signs of wear consistent with age, including discolouration, craquelure, and wear around the edges. Areas of overpainting. Stable cracking to the frame. Loss to the lower left corner of the frame.
