A striking still life composition by Stuttgart artist and sculptor Walter Thumm (1909-1992) featuring a bowl of fruit arranged beside several bottles and glasses. Thumm employs an impressionistic style comprised of fine brushstrokes with subtle impasto that provides a rich, textured effect. Signed and dated to the lower right. Well presented in a pale pink and silver frame. On canvas on stretchers.
Condition
The artwork presents very well, with only minor signs of wear. Slight discolouration and some areas of craquelure. Scuffs and scratches to the frame.
