Walter Stuart Lloyd RBA (1858-1926) was a painter born in Clapton, Middlesex (now London). Details of any art education are unknown but he was a prolific exhibitor of marine and landscapes. He exhibited at the Royal Birmingham Society of Artists, Dudley Gallery Art Society, Fine Art Society, Grosvenor Gallery, Glasgow Institute of the Fine Arts, Manchester Academy of Fine Arts, Royal Academy of Arts, the Royal Society of British Artists who elected him a member in 1879, Royal Institute of Painters in Water Colours, Royal Institute of Oil Painters, Royal Scottish Academy, Arthur Tooth & Sons, and at the Walker Art Gallery. Lloyd was also a founder member of the Birmingham Art Circle.
