A very fine watercolour study by the listed British artist Walter Emsley (1860-1938). The artist has captured children playing in a street of terraced houses with a small church on the corner. A young girl pulls her young sibling in a wooden cart while a mother and child hold hands close to the church wall. Excellently presented in a contemporary wood frame and white card mount. Bell Fine Art Ltd, label to the reverse. Signed and dated to the lower left. On watercolour paper.Condition
The condition is typical for a picture of this age including some discolouration and foxing. Overall the condition is good.

Artist Biography
Painter of landscapes in oil and watercolour, who lived in Manchester and moved to Bushey, Hertfordshire where an example of his work can be seen in Bushey Museum and Art Gallery. Others are held by Gallery Oldham, Glasgow Museums, Salford Art Gallery and Southampton Art Gallery. Emsley exhibited his work with the RA, RCamA, MAFA and at the Walker Art Gallery, Liverpool.
