A charming early 20th century watercolour scene showing a group of farm workers industriously harvesting large green bows and chatting merrily. The artist has signed and dated to the lower right corner and the painting has been presented in a simple gilt frame with card mount. On paper.

Artist Biography

Walter Duncan was born in Hampstead London in 1848; the son of Edward Duncan, a watercolour painter of some talent. He studied art at the British Museum and the Heatherley School of Fine Art and served a seven-year apprenticeship at the Royal Academy of Arts. In 1874, he was elected an Associate of the Royal Watercolour Society. He died in 1932 in Richmond, London.
