Description

A charming watercolour study by Walter Brooks Spong (1851–1929), depicting a rustic Devonshire cottage with a thatched roof, weathered walls, and brick chimney, set within a large overgrown plot. Indistinctly signed lower right. Presented in a burr maple frame. Inscribed verso 'Greenhill Cottage - Kings Wiswell - South Devon'. On paper.

Condition

Signs of wear consistent with age. Even discolouration to the watercolour. Small closed tears to the upper right-hand corner. Light abrasion and loss to the frame's maple veneer (lower left and right-hand side). The artwork is in good condition for its age.
