A delightful late 19th Century landscape in oil signed by the artist 'Wallis', depicting figures conversing over a wall, on a country lane. The artist has composed the scene with a traditional approach, characteristic of the period. Subtle lighting and shadow instills a picturesque quality to the work, with careful foliate details. Well-presented in a gilt wooden frame, with ornate floral moulded cove, and moulded running patterns. Signed. On board.

Condition

In very good condition overall, for a picture of this age. There is some minor even surface discolouration, and light scuffing to the edges. Some minor spotted discolouration to the upper right quadrant of the picture. The frame has some minor surface marks and scuffing, but is in very good condition also.
