Description
Original 19th Century Tea Caddy. A very fine and beautifully patinated tea caddy. The straw work and parquetry are very well done and the box has an excellent presence. Hinges, lock, strike plate, escutcheon are all original and fine. There is no key. The wells still show traces of the original tin lining. The lids to the wells and the interior of the lid are mahogany and seem to have been added later. There are small bits of veneer missing in the corners. A good small size: 20 cm wide, 11.5cm deep, 12.5 cm high. In fine condition.
