Description

An exquisite oil painting by well listed French artist Victor Jean Baptiste Barthelemy Binet (1849-1924). This stunning summer orchard scene is typical of Binet's impressionistic style. The paint has been applied in free, rapid movements creating complex textures within the paint layers. This draws the viewer's eye to a complex mesh of summer pinks and purple colours, perfectly capturing the tranquil atmosphere of this summer scene.

Probably painting en plein air Binet has used the blossoming trees as a compositional focal point. The artist's obvious connection with the natural world allows him to visualise the hidden tensions present in landscape.

Beautifully presented in a gilt effect modern frame.

Signed. On board.
