A beautiful turn of the Century silk embroidery showing the striking torii gates at the entrance of a sacred Shinto shrine on a mountain lake. A torii is a traditional Japanese gate most commonly found at the entrance of or within a Shinto shrine, where it symbolically marks the transition from the mundane to the sacred. The embroidery is presented in a simple dark wood frame.

Condition

In remarkably good condition for its age. Minor discolouration and no damage to the silk. The frame has some light surface scuffing.
