Description
A charming Victorian oil scene, showing two women in conversation, one resting on the stone wall of a riverside path. The other woman holds a basket at her side as her daughter waits patiently next to her. Swans swim in the water and a blue sky can be glimpsed through the overhead trees. The painting is unsigned and presented in a substantial early 20th Century gilt frame with low relief acanthus leaf molding and a internal gilt slip. On canvas.Condition
The condition is typical for a picture of this age including some discolouration. The frame has some tarnishing and areas of contemporary gilt effect. There are some losses around the outer edges and slight splitting at the inner corners.
