Artist Biography
Thomas Spinks (1847-1927) was a painter of landscapes in oils who was born in Derby and lived in Betws-y-Coed, Gwynedd, and London. He worked in a style reminiscent of B.W. Leader and W.H. Mander and exhibited at the Manchester Academy of Fine Arts, Royal Academy, and Walker Art Gallery, Liverpool. Examples of his work are in the collections of Atkinson Art Gallery, Derby Museum and Art Gallery, North Lincolnshire Museum, Rotherham Museums and Galleries, and Wycombe Museum.
