Description

A wonderfully detailed still life by the Victorian painter Thomas Collins (fl.1857-1893). His intricate composition captures the beautiful colours of wild pansies, mixed with pale peach roses and delicate primroses on a mossy bank. Presented in an ornate gilt effect frame with scrolling acanthus repeat mouldings and a plain gilt slip. Signed to the lower right corner and dated 1877. On canvas on stretchers.

Condition

The oil itself is in excellent condition with no signs of restoration. There is some light wear to the gilt-effect frame and slip.
