From the 1812 large quarto edition of 'Illustrious Personages'. T Cheesman has worked in the style of Francesco Bartolozzi (1725-1815) who had developed his own technique of stipple engraving with printed color to reproduce the look of chalk drawings, such as Holbein’s.
