Description

A charming watercolour depicting Westenhanger Castle in Kent. The castle has a rich royal history, having been owned by King Canute and later used as a command centre for defence against the Spanish Armada. Although the work is unsigned, an inscription on the reverse attributes the work to T.F. Wadmore, and the work was acquired alongside a signed work by the artist. On paper.

Condition

The artwork shows wear consistent with age; however, the condition remains good overall. Discolouration and light foxing to the paper. Wear around the edges of the paper.

Size

23.5 x 33cm (9.3" x 13.0")
