Description
Sydney Maiden - Original 1944 Graphite Drawing. Signed and dated and inscribed. There is a small fold at the very bottom right corner.Sydney Joseph Fabricius Maiden was a landscape and figurative painter in oil and watercolour. He was born in India in 1893 and served as an officer in the East Kent Regiment in both wars. He lived in London and later in Chipstead, near Sevenoaks, Kent. He exhibited in the 1930s at the Goupil Gallery, the New English Art Club and the Royal Academy. We have obtained a portfolio of his work. Most of the work is either signed or monogrammed. The unsigned works are usually inscribed in his handwriting. There is no doubt that each and every work in this collection is by his hand.Size
