Sven Erixson (1899-1970) was a Swedish painter and sculptor. He began his artistic career as an apprentice to a master painter at the age of fourteen, before studying decorative painting. He worked as a teacher of drawing at the Konstfack, followed by a year of study at the Royal Swedish Academy of Arts, to which he later returned as a Professor of painting. Erixson drew inspiration from a variety of sources, from medieval folk art to German Expressionism. His subjects included landscapes, figures, city scenes, interiors, and floral pieces. Erixson's work is represented in many Swedish art museums. He was also one of the artists who started the artist-led gallery 'Colour and Shape' (Färg och Form) in Stockholm in 1932.
