Description

A vibrant aquatint by Thomas Sutherland (1785-1838) after John Frederick Herring Snr. (1795-1865) depicting Memnon, a racehorse who won the 1825 Great St. Leger at Doncaster. An inscription below the image details the horse's ownership and pedigree. The print is well presented in a bird's-eye maple veneer frame. On paper.

Condition

Signs of wear consistent with age, including discolouration and light foxing to the paper. Minor wear to the frame. Overall, the artwork is in good condition for its age.
