Artist Biography
Sue Wales studied painting at Reigate Art School and the Grande Chaumiere and Academie Julian Paris. She worked, as a graphic designer, at Galleries Lafayette (Paris) and, following her return to England, became art editor for various magazines. Subsequently, Sue moved into art direction for TV commercials until the birth of her youngest child. She has been painting full time for over 20 years and holding workshops in her studio.
Sue produces a wide range of work, including landscapes, still lives of flowers and fruit, garden scenes and interiors. The common denominator is the spontaneous and informal use of colour and tone. She has exhibited at galleries in the United States and throughout Great Britain including the RWA, Bath Society of Artists, of which she is a member, the RBA and five solo shows in London.
