Artist Biography
A subject that never goes out of style, these beautiful floral and botanical etchings by contemporary artist Sue Kavanagh evoke an instant feeling of joy. Having always lived in London, Kavanagh studied Fine Arts at the Byam Shaw School, before starting a career in animation for the BBC.
In 1979 she attended Putney School of Art to study printmaking, etching, and mix media studies - here she found the perfect way of recording the feeling of light, atmosphere and texture through the process of etching. This fine selection of limited edition prints have been elegantly presented on large sheets of white paper, the perfect base for this highly saturated series of summer scenes and surreal floral studies.
