A vibrant watercolour painting by the British artist Stewart Hine, depicting a scene in Tangalooma Island, Australia. Signed and dated to the lower right-hand corner. There is an artist's label on the reverse inscribed with the title. Well-presented in a double card mount and in a simple gilt effect frame. On watercolour paper.

Painting in fine condition. Minor surface marks to the mount and small scuffs to the frame.

Artist Biography

Stewart Charles Hine (1928-2018) was by profession an electronic engineer, however, he was skilled in painting, writing, photography, sailing and classic cars among other things. A talented and versatile artist, Hine was a member of the Guild of Aviation Artists. Best known for his depictions of railways and aeroplanes, Hine was also keen on landscapes and portraits. Examples of his work are included in the collections of the Fleet Air Arm Museum, the London Transport Museum and the Imperial War Museum.
