Stephen Whittle (1953-2000) - 20th Century Etching Cotswold Village
Description
An etching with aquatint of a Cotswold village. The arched-top shape is similar to that used by another well-known etcher, Graham Clarke (b.1941). Presented glazed in a beige mount and thin wooden frame with gilt-effect inner. Inscribed in graphite with the number 170/250, title, and signature to the lower edge. There is also a booklet attached to the reverse titled 'Notes on Etching' by Stephen Whittle. On wove.Condition
Some minor cockling to the paper. Some minor scuffs to the frame. Overall in very good condition.

Artist Biography
Born in England, Whittle studied etching at Chelsea School of Art and Brighton College of Art. He worked as an artist, teacher, and graphic designer in Switzerland and England. Working with publishers such as London Contemporary Art and CCA Galleries, his florals and landscape scenes gained popularity in Japan, Australia and North America. He exhibited at art shows in Tokyo, New York, Paris and Frankfurt.
