An original 18th Century Georgian Tortoise Shell and silver Pique Work snuff box. An excellent snuff box with definite condition issues as shown. The pique work is almost intact but there are chips to the tortoise shell and the silver (unmarked) has had repairs. There is a riveted repair to the side of the box as well. The lid fits well, and the box actually can function very well as a snuff box. We don't know much about snuff boxes and the dating is our best guess. 7.5 x 5.5 x 2 cm.
