The artist uses an accomplished hand to captures the fine details in the scene, from the delicate lace tablecloth to the light shining through a sheer scarf draped over the chair. Artist Biography
Shirley Easton trained at Leicester College of Art gaining a National Diploma in Design in Fine Art & Printed Textiles in 1957 followed by the Art Teachers Diploma. She married the artist David Easton in 1959. Easton taught drawing and painting at Leicester College of Adult Education for 36 years from 1961 to 1997. During this time she exhibited two works at the Royal Academy in 1986, exhibited for twenty years in Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolours exhibitions at the Mall Galleries, and was a Member of the Society of Women Artists from 1987 to 1992.
