Sergio Telles is a Brazilian painter born in Rio de Janeiro. He is known for his vibrant expressionist style and use of vibrant colour. His works explore the light and atmosphere of urban and coastal landscapes, capturing the unique energy of Brazil. Telles studied both in Brazil and abroad, absorbing influences from European modernism while maintaining a distinctively Brazilian sensibility. His paintings reveal a fascination with movement and human presence, often depicting scenes from Rio’s streets, beaches, and everyday life. Throughout his long career, he has exhibited widely in Latin America, Europe, and the United States. Telles' art reflects both the spontaneity of impressionism and the intensity of expressionism.
