Description

An impressively sized yet finely detailed engraving by John Scott (1774-1827) after Philip Reinagle (1749-1833). The scene depicts Colonel Thornton, a renowned and dedicated sportsman, and his hunting party. The original painting was commissioned by Thornton, who patronised Reinagle on several occasions. Well presented in a black frame with gilt running patterns. On paper.

Condition

The condition is typical for a picture of this age including some discolouration and foxing to the paper and mount. Marks and scuffs to the frame, including some losses to the running patterns.
