Description

A dramatic and evocative seascape in oil, in the manner of Thomas Bush Hardy (1842-1897), the British marine painter. Entitled 'Fishing Vessels in the Channel', the artist has depicted various boats with figures at sea, with crashing waves and an atmospheric sky. Well-presented within a titled washline mount and wooden frame with gilt beading, as shown. Unsigned and inscribed.

Condition

In good condition overall for a picture of this age. There is some paint loss to the lower left corner, and other light surface discolouration. The frame has some minor marks and scuffs.
