S.R.G. - c.1887 Watercolour Lacock Abbey

Description

A view of Lacock Abbey in Wiltshire, founded in the early 13th century by Ela, Countess of Salisbury, as a nunnery of the Augustinian order. Presented glazed in a cream mount and a thin green and gilt-effect frame. Monogrammed to the lower-right corner. The date of the painting is judged according to works by the same hand in the possession of Sulis Fine Art. On watercolour paper.

Condition

There is some slight discolouration and some scratches to the frame but overall the painting is in excellent condition for its age.
