A fine and charming tempera watercolour painting with gouache details by the British artist S. Barnes Robson, depicting a beach scene with figures and boats. There is a label on the reverse with additional details. The inscriptions read: 'Filey Beach. Yorks. Original tempera painting. Exhibition. Royal Cambrian Academy, Paris Salon. RBA.' Signed, titled and dated to the lower left-hand corner. On watercolour paper.Condition
In good condition overall, with minor surface marks and discolouration.

S. Barnes Robson (1900-1973) was born in York, England, and studied at the Yorkshire School of Arts and Crafts. He exhibited at the Royal Cambrian Academy, the Royal Society of British Artists and the Paris Salon, among others.
