Description

A portrait of the prima ballerina Mathilde Kschessinska (1872-1971). She was a mistress of the future Tsar Nicholas II of Russia prior to his marriage and later the wife of his cousin Grand Duke Andrei Vladimirovich of Russia. Inscribed with the name of the subject in Russian on the reverse. Signed indistinctly to the lower-right edge.
On watercolour paper.

Condition

There is some discolouration, primarily to the margins, and a small loss to the substrate at the upper-right corner. Overall in good condition.
