A charming landscape painting depicts a modest red dwelling nestled amongst woodland trees, rendered in loose, impressionistic brushwork that captures dappled light filtering through the verdant canopy. The composition draws the eye from the foreground path towards the warm terracotta-hued building, which provides a welcoming focal point. Well presented in a decorative gilt-effect frame with cream-coloured slip. Unsigned. Artist's details verso. On canvas laid to card.
Condition
Minor surface marks and abrasions to the upper right hand corner of the painting. Inspection under UV light reveals no apparent restoration. The frame has minor surface wear and scuffs. Overall, the artwork is in very good condition for its age.
