Description

A charming mezzotint by R.S. Syer (act. 1797-1801) after a 1792 painting by George Morland (1763-1804). Like many of Morland's works, the scene provides a reassuring vision of timeless rural life at a time of rapid industrialisation and change. Signed within the plate. Well presented in a black frame with gilt-effect borders. On paper.

Condition

The condition is typical for a picture of this age, including some discolouration, dirtying, and foxing. Wear and scuffs to the frame.
