Rowland Fade was born in Norwich, England on 10 May 1939. He primarily created sculptural paintings, combining various three-dimensional materials to make sculptural relief paintings. He first visited Spain in 1969, falling in love with the country before making Almuñécar his permanent home in 1995. He was a well known and respected figure on the town's cultural scene.
