Description
A bizarre and magical Surrealist composition in oil from the 1970s. The scene shows a strange human torso that morphs with a cello into a musical hybrid. Strange shapes pour out from the creature, a woman reaching for the sky, a red rose and a dove, among amorphous melting shapes. The painting shows a musician becoming one with his instrument, to create an outpouring of beauty, love and peace, set in a surreal, stark landscape. The artist has signed and dated to the lower right and the painting has been presented in a simple oak box frame. On canvas.Condition
The condition is typical for a picture of this age including some discolouration. Some minor surface dirt. There is a repair to the canvas at the upper left quadrant.
