A colourful still life study of a spotted jug holding vibrant flowers. The artist places colour and pattern at the heart of the composition, creating dynamic shapes and forms to bring life to the composition. Signed to the lower right. Title inscribed verso. Presented in a white painted wooden frame. On canvas.

This painting is in fine condition. There is some light scuffing to the frame.

Artist Biography

Rosemary Ziar was a painter born in St. Ives, Cornwall. She studied at Penzance School of Art from 1936 to 1941 under James Lias, and later in 1945 with Leonard Fuller, who ran the St. Ives School of Painting.

She was a member of Society des Artistes Français and showed with them at the Paris Salon and the Biarritz International Salon. She also exhibited in the UK at the SWA, UA and RBSA.
