Little-known artist and painter of flower pieces, the sister of painter Ellen Welby. She was born in Canterbury, Kent the daughter of a county court bayliff. Like her sister Ellen she showed at the RA, RI, Royal Birmingham Society of Artists, Dudley Gallery, WAG, MAFA, RSA and SWA. Rose also taught at the Central School of Arts & Crafts, 1908-19.
