Painter and etcher born in Morecambe, Lancashire the son of artist William Woodhouse. Known as Roy, he attended the Morecambe School of Art and is remembered for his topographical etchings and occasional animal woodcuts and paintings. He exhibited at the Walker Art Gallery, Liverpool and should not be confused with Basil Woodhouse who was somewhat older and remembered for his cartoons and illustrations. Lancaster City Museums has a painting of Roy standing by a Howitzer gun in 1918 during World War I. It was painted by his father William Woodhouse.
