Description

This unusual oil shows a view over Faccombe in Hampshire. The painting us textured using a soft impasto technique and a pastel colour palette and very fine detail in the trees and building in the foreground. The artist's style is reminiscent of the early 20th C print maker and painter, Eric Ravilious. There is an original label attached to the reverse inscribed with the artist's name, date of painting and inscription about the painting.  Inscribed on the reverse.On Board.

Condition

The condition is typical for a picture of this age including some discolouration. Some wear to the edges of the board and a scuff to the lower left quadrant of the painting. Foxing to the label on the reverse.
